I spent most of Labour Weekend Monday up and down a ladder as Lyn and I threw some paint around in the hall at home.

As a result I had no chance to get out and take a daily photo, and instead have had to delve into my photographic archives for today’s pic which is one I took while touring the UK back in September 2015.

If you have ever visited Scotland there is a high likelihood you probably visited this iconic place – Eilan Donan Castle on the Kyle of Lacalsh.

I have lost count of the number of times I have driven past this old lone pine tree beside a stream at the end of Stead Street on the way to Oreti Beach and thought – “I must stop and take a photo of that…”

The Feldwick Gates – at the main – or southern entrance to Invercargill’s Queens Park were built in 1924.

Contrary to popular belief the gates were named after the John Feldwick, editor/owner of the Southland Daily News and not named after the MP Henry Feldwick who was John’s brother.
